Massage

Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing and manipulating your skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Massage may range from light stroking to deep pressure. Massage is the manipulation of the body's soft tissues. Massage techniques are commonly applied with hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearms, feet, or a device. The purpose of massage is generally for the treatment of body stress or pain. In the United States, the title massage therapist has been recognized as a business norm for those who have been professionally trained to give massages.

Massage has been practiced for thousands of years. Today, if you need or want a massage, you can choose from about 80 massage therapy styles with a wide variety of pressures, movements, and techniques. These all involve pressing, rubbing, or manipulating muscles and other soft tissues with hands and fingers sometimes, even forearms, elbows, or feet are used. According to the American Massage Therapy Association, in 2018, approximately 19% of Americans had some form of massage and, they have a wide range of reasons for doing so. More and more people especially baby boomers recognize the health benefits of massage. They choose from among many massage styles to get relief from symptoms or to heal injuries, to help with certain health conditions, and to promote overall wellness.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional Oriental Health Management technique that involves the burning of “Mugwort” a small spongy herb, to promote healing with acupuncture. The purpose of moxibustion, as with most forms of traditional Chinese medicine, is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi, and maintain general health. Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called "moxa" are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. ... Moxa is usually made from the dried leafy material of Chinese Mugwort (Artemesiaargyi or Artemesiavlugaris), but it can be made of other substances as well. Moxibustion is a technique that involves the burning of Mugwort, known as Moxa, which is an herb that facilitates healing. The purpose of moxibustion is to stimulate the flow of Qi (pronounced “Chee”), strengthen the blood and maintain general health.

Moxibustion is an important invention of the Chinese nation, which originated as early as in the clan commune period of the primitive society. The literature records on moxibustion can be traced back to the Warring States Period (475 B.C. to 221 B.C.). In non-scarring moxibustion, the moxa is placed on the point and lit, but is extinguished or removed before it burns the skin. Moxibustion is a kind of external treatment; it is based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and it usually bakes acupoints with burning moxa wool. Moxibustion can dredge meridians and regulate qi-blood and has been used to prevent and cure diseases for more than 2500 years. Moxibustion is a traditional medical treatment originating in China. The increasing use of moxibustion has drawn attention to the procedure's adverse events (AEs).

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health care profession. Chiropractors perform adjustments (manipulations) to the spine or other parts of the body.
